About this Episode

Can you homeschool your kids without giving up your own God-given dreams? Zan Tyler sits down with Ro Uwague to talk about balancing motherhood, faith, and entrepreneurship. They share honest insights about curriculum overwhelm, learning beyond the desk, and why family socialization often beats the traditional classroom. Ro opens up about trading corporate success for the call to homeschool—and how prayer, flexibility, and purpose keep her grounded. You’ll also hear how she’s working to rebuild New Jersey’s statewide homeschool network and how remembering your “why” can carry you through the hardest days.

Meet My Guest

Rose-Anne Uwague (Ro) and her husband, Izoduwa live in New Jersey and are the proud parents to three sons. She served as a Classical Conversations Support Representative and Event Coordinator, organizing activities for fellow homeschoolers. Currently, she is the host of Ro’s Resource Room Podcast, offering tips and strategies on home-centered education for CHAP listeners. Alongside productivity coaching, she consults non-profits on family building and strategic partnerships. She enjoys reading, exploring new cities, and spending time by and in the water. She is passionate about building a supportive homeschooling community and connecting with others who share her values.

At BJU Press Homeschool, we’re committed to providing children an education from a biblical worldview that is academically sound and challenges them to advance, think critically, and live like Christ. This type of education is not often possible in public schools because of the number of children taught in a classroom, a difference in worldview, and peer and societal pressure to conform. Homeschooling allows parents to instruct and disciple their children without daily fighting messages from an opposing worldview taught in the classroom. And with tuition costs and fees for private schooling or tutoring, homeschooling may be the only option for parents who are concerned for their children’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
