About this Episode

Could your obedience to God open doors you never expected? Zan Tyler talks with Rebecca Verbeten about answering God’s call to homeschool while He unfolded a path that would take their family to Jerusalem for ten years. From building community in a foreign country to visiting the very places where Scripture comes alive, Rebecca shares how faith and daily discipleship shaped her family. Stay faithful in your calling. God is weaving something richer than you can see.

Meet My Guest

Rebecca Verbeten serves as the Special Projects Coordinator for Bridges for Peace USA, with a focus on field engagement and next-generation outreach. She brings 30 years of ministry experience, including discipleship, preaching, teaching, and Israel advocacy in both the United States and Israel. Throughout her ministry, Rebecca has been deeply committed to equipping believers of every generation to love, bless, and stand with Israel in alignment with God’s Word.

She spent ten years living in Israel, where she and her husband, Patrick, helped create and direct a full time discipleship and volunteer program for young adults, investing in the next generation through biblical teaching, service, and bridge-building ministry. During this time Rebecca also started a homeschool community composed of Israeli and international families.

Rebecca is passionate about the entirety of Scripture and about helping others discover God’s heart and redemptive purposes for Israel and the Jewish people. She now considers it a humbling and holy calling to be back in the United States, once again serving the Church by bringing clarity, compassion, and biblical perspective on Israel.

At BJU Press Homeschool, we’re committed to providing children an education from a biblical worldview that is academically sound and challenges them to advance, think critically, and live like Christ. This type of education is not often possible in public schools because of the number of children taught in a classroom, a difference in worldview, and peer and societal pressure to conform. Homeschooling allows parents to instruct and disciple their children without daily fighting messages from an opposing worldview taught in the classroom. And with tuition costs and fees for private schooling or tutoring, homeschooling may be the only option for parents who are concerned for their children’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
