Meet My Guest
Zan and Joe were married right after her college graduation and started their family nine months later. Together they have three grown children, three kids-in-love, and nine grandchildren. They homeschooled their children through high school for 21 years, and all attended college on a variety of scholarships. Zan is an Ambassador for BJU Press Homeschool, the host of the Zan Tyler Podcast, a prolific author, and inspirational speaker.
After a career as an information systems project manager, Joe worked in homeschool publishing for nine years and is now the president of Followers in Fellowship. Joe has also been deeply involved in the homeschooling movement, both through his own family and the homeschool community at large. Zan and Joe love speaking together—bringing laughter and sharing powerful stories and practical encouragement on marriage, cultivating a family vision, and teaching lessons in leadership. Zan is also a relentless advocate for homeschool freedom, after having been threatened with jail for homeschooling in 1984.

Podcast Sponsor
At BJU Press Homeschool, we’re committed to providing children an education from a biblical worldview that is academically sound and challenges them to advance, think critically, and live like Christ. This type of education is not often possible in public schools because of the number of children taught in a classroom, a difference in worldview, and peer and societal pressure to conform. Homeschooling allows parents to instruct and disciple their children without daily fighting messages from an opposing worldview taught in the classroom. And with tuition costs and fees for private schooling or tutoring, homeschooling may be the only option for parents who are concerned for their children’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
